stabbed in the fucking head...

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Weekend Nachos. That's about it. All the songs are really pretty good. The lyrics are often pretty cliché, but every now and then they attack something a bit strange. Like bringing your dog to a hardcore show, or the fact that the Boy Scouts don't like gay people. Strange topics for powerviolence, but shit. Along with Trap Them and Magrudergrind, Weekend Nachos are the present and future of extreme hardcore.

my favorite shit. Power Violence in its finest hour.
One of the hardest working and determined bands in the underground today, Magrudergrind is primed to kick ass and take names on their sophomore full-length release. Combining elements of grind, crust, and thrash, the raw energy and violent emotion contained within the 16 tracks is overpowering. From Willowtip Records

awesome as it gets

NOLA Style.

Soilent Green was founded in 1988. Their debut album wasn't released until 1995, when Pussysoul came out on Dwell Records. The following four albums were released by Relapse Records, until they signed with Metal Blade Records for their 2008 album, Inevitable Collapse in the Presence of Conviction. To promote the album they toured with God Forbid, Dethklok, and Chimaira.[citation needed]

The band have had their share of tribulations, even violence. On 26 April 2004, bassist Scott Williams was killed in an apparent murder/suicide by his roommate. Then, in September 2005, former singer Glen Rambo was killed in Hurricane Katrina.

Coverage of the band has been positive. In 2006, Soilent Green was featured in Metal Maniacs magazine in an article about the New Orleans metal scene.[citation needed] Soilent Green was also featured in Rolling Stone as one of the top 25 most influential metal bands.[citation needed][when?]

In 2009, they were featured on the first episode of season three on the Adult Swim show Squidbillies, episode 41, entitled "Lerm". They performed the main title theme in a cowpunk/sludge style.

Hymns of the needle freak.

Acid Bath was formed in 1991. The band was based south of New Orleans in several small towns including Houma, Thibodaux, Morgan City and Galliano. The band included Dax Riggs (ex-Agents of Oblivion/Deadboy and the Elephantman), Sammy Duet (Ex-Crowbar/Ritual Killer/Goatwhore), Jimmy Kyle, Mike Sanchez (ex-Agents of Oblivion) and Audie Pitre (shrum). Influenced by thrash metal as well as bands and artists such as Black Sabbath, David Bowie, Alice Cooper, Celtic Frost, Carcass, Darkthrone, they recorded their demo Hymns of the Needle Freak with their manager and producer Keith Falgout in 1993. The strength of the demo earned them a deal with an independent label . They released When the Kite String Pops in 1994, followed two years later by their second and final effort Paegan Terrorism Tactics (also produced by Keith Falgout). Neither gained them mainstream success by any means, but both albums earned a high degree of underground acclaim. Recently in 2005, they released another album composed of their demos, Demos: 1993 - 1996.

Black Army Jacket was Originally Andrew Orlando (ex-Milhouse/Hope Collapse and owner of Reservoir Records), Carlos Ramirez (Hope Collapse/Lakota) Dan Crowell (Ex-Halfman/Matt pond PA) Chris Russo (Those of Us) and Rob Lawi joined in on lead vocals. BAJ entered NYC's LoHo Studios a few months later and recorded what would become their 1996 demo. The tape caused a small buzz in the hardcore and metal zine world and made many tape trader lists.

The Band went on to release The Path of Two Swords As One 7" - Chain saw Safety Records

In 1998, BAJ was invited to play the annual Milwaukee Metalfest along with bands including Destruction, Mercyful Fate, Death and Brutal Truth. They also went on to perform at that year's Fiesta Grande festival at Berkley, CA's Gilman St. club, organized by Spazz bassist/vocalist and Slap A Ham Records founder, Chris Dodge. The band wrote throughout the year and entered the studio with Dean Rispler (Killing Time, 25 Ta Life) in the producer chair. The resulting album, 222, saw the musicians incorporating hints of death and black metal along with some more traditional elements of hardcore to their sound. They toured extensively to support their debut.

You need to know about this band!

This is a band that any fan of Crust Grind Or Sludge needs to know about. The Band Started with Kayt Vigil ( Zed, Catheter, The Hounds of Hasselvander and Hatchetface) on Bass and Joe Vigil (Jeno and super Buick) on Drums. They jammed for about a year before they relocated from Denver, CO to Philly. Kayt was originally from Philly and started jamming with Brian Nothing (Urine Trouble and Spasm 151) on guitar due to the help of Yanni P. of Stinkin' Lizvetta. They did a fair bit of touring and made lots of friends along the way as a band should. This band lived fast and died way too young.

They put out two 7"s. "I Am Misery" and "Destroy the Light". This is thier only full length and the last effort for the band " When Demons Ride Angels". The release received a lot of positive feedback from both grindcore and doom-metal enthusiasts who are open-minded to the ever-changing style that the album represents.
These items are still up for sale for anyone interested. Please contact Kayt Vigil for more info at http//:www.myspace.com/kaytvigil

Ocean Cheif - Tor

Featuring:
Tobias Larsson - Drums, Vocals (Catapult the Smoke)
Jocke Pettersson - Bass (Carcaroht, Cranium (Swe), Dawn (Swe), Niden Div. 187, Regurgitate, Retaliation (Swe), Thy Primordial, Unmoored, Bloodshed Nihil, Funeral Feast (Swe), Traumatic)
Björn Andersson - Guitar (Vanhelgd, The Jam Session)

I am a huge fan of The Oden Sessions, the previous full-length outing by this excellent underground Swedish doom band. I loved the overdriven, sludgy guitars. I recently purchased it and listened to it and, of course, it's every bit as ridiculously heavy as I expected. There's even a harsher, gruffer vocal delivery by. This album was also recorded and mixed in three days.

For fans of Electric Wizard.

Hail!Hornet Self Titled

Some Good Sludge / Hardcore Featuring:
Troy Medlin - Vocals (Sourvein)
Dixie Dave - Bass (Weedeater, Buzzov•en, Bongzilla, Sourvein)
Vincent Burke - Guitars (Beaten Back To Pure, Sourvein, Lunch)
Erik Larson - Drums (The Mighty Nimbus, Kilara, Axehandle, Avail, Birds of Prey, Parasytic, Alabama Thunderpussy, King Travolta)

Review Stolen from Deaf Sparrow -
For those that get tired quite quickly with all the building by the hour post-rock and the lack of message and understanding from instrumental rock, here we come with some pan fried Southern solid stoner doom sludge (you can use either or all of these sub genre names to describe Hail! Hornet's material) rock from the experienced hands of members of Beaten Back to Pure, Weedeater, Sourvein and Alabama Thunderpussy. First thing that comes to mind; for a stoner band Hail! Hornet sounds quite pissed; the vocals of T Roy Medlin (Will to Mangle/Sourvein/Emeral Vulture) come as angry as they can, like an enraged drunkard who is looking for a fight with anyone, no matter what size they are. Pissed, angry and dirty, plenty of facial hair and quite possibly, armpit smell to suffocate on.

But the music itself is quite fast, for a stoner/sludge/doom band anyway; chunky riffs that move with outstanding agility ("Drunk Tank"), in this particular track was it not for the girth of the guitars it would have been a straight ahead punk rock track. As a contrast, "No Solution" opens acoustically ("Foxy Fuck") only to get heavy through mid tempo grooves, double kick drums and the rowdy unsophisticated approach of Medlin. Handling the drums is Alabama Thunderpussy's Erik Larson, while Beaten Back to Pure's Vince Burke can't contain himself and moves quite fast through this self-titled debut. The rumour of the existence of Hail! Hornet was out back in 2006. At the time the name that floated around was Vagabond. Once the rumour came to fruition all that was needed was some bourbon. More than likely, more than some. Hail! Hornet's ten tracks punch below the gut more than sting. Solid fast and pissed stoner is perhaps more accurate. Swampy sludge fits them nicely too

Strike Like A Snake

This is one of my favorite bands. Primitive and crusty hardcore. Imagine If Eyehategod sped it up a notch but remained as filthy. Imagine if Black Flag or Discharge had been left to starve in the back alleys of the 3rd Ward New Orleans. Dares vocals remind me of a pissed off street preacher high on gunpowder and bone spores.Garys riffs are minimal knuckle draggers primed as riot starters. It just doesnt get any better for this if you want the true essence of Southern Fried Hardcore. They have played more gigs than any of your favorite bands and destroy twice as hard live. The images of vocalist Mike Dares turning flips on stage and landing on his back will brun your fucking eyes out. One of the best live shows in the south for serious dawgs.

One Day A Real Rains Gonna Come.......

Thanks to Sludge Swamp For This. Had To Post.
"Buzzov-en has been cranking out drug-fueled, misanthropic sludge punk in various incarnations since their inception in 1990. Known almost as much for their out-of-control and sometimes violent live shows as they are for their music, the band carries on a tradition shared by such fellow Southern troublemakers as Eyehategod and Antiseen. They have endured several lineup changes and apparent breakups over the years, with the only permanent member being singer/guitarist Kirk Fisher (alternately credited on albums as "Reverend Dirtkicker" or simply "Kirk.") With drummer Ashley Williamson (aka Ash and Ash Lee) and bassist Brian Hill in tow, they recorded their first EP (Wound) and full-length (To a Frown) on the Allied label in the early to mid-'90s. Eventually signing with the more prominent Roadrunner Records, the band unleashed their second full-length, Sore, in 1994. (By this time, they had added a second guitarist in Buddy Apostolis, aka Buddy and Little Buddy.) Yet instead of garnering the type of recognition as some of their labelmates (see Sepultura or Fear Factory, for example), Buzzov-en remained very much a cult band, continuing to tour heavily (including a stint opening for GWAR) but ultimately disintegrating before they could issue a Roadrunner follow-up. By the time of their next full-length, 1998's At a Loss, Fisher was the only original member left, with bassist/vocalist Dave "Dixie" Collins (later of Weedeater) among the new recruits. Assumed to have broken up once more, Fisher and company nonetheless returned yet again in 2001 with the long-delayed Revelation: Sick Again, this time on the Hydrahead label."

Welcome To Violence

Welcome to Backwoods Chaos. The name should give you a pretty good idea of what kind of a blog im going to be fucking around with. Im just going to throw together my interests and up the chaos.

Howling tracks of Hell track coming, black storm on the rise
They fill out temples with their lies
The snakes come slithering
Anarchy
Chaotic hunters rise
Spit in the evil eyes
Stand our ground with hate and fury; fear that comes will die
Our enemies have come to life
A clashing comes, the haunting presence controlling all that breaths
It's brought the world down to it knees
Now they exalt the fiend
Shotgun
Your nightmare's not a dream
They'll choke you and your screams
Sacrificing sons and daughters, rolls the war machine
The tyrant fills his destiny
The hounds of hell are freed
Desolate
And with their bite, disease
His evil never sleeps
- High On Fire

yep. Fuck It. Welcome to Backwoods Chaos. Rip It Sick
